دارت معركة أمريتسار المعروفة أيضاً باسم معركة جوهالوار بين إمبراطورية دوراني وشهيدان ميسل من دال خالسا في 11 نوفمبر 1757. بعد الغزو الرابع لأحمد شاه دوراني تعرض جيشه لهجوم من قبل عصابات السيخ. تحت قيادة علاء سينغ وبابا ديب سينغ. وفي أعقاب الهجمات قام أحمد شاه بتدنيس موقع السيخ المقدس المعروف باسم شري هارماندير صاحب في أمريتسار. ووصلت أنباء التدنيس إلى بابا ديب سينغ الذي تعهد بتحرير الموقع المقدس من الأفغان المسلمين. نتج عن ذلك معركة ضارية دارت في قرية جوهالوار بالقرب من أمريتسار. أسفرت المعركة عن مقتل بابا ديب سينغ. إلا أن النتيجة الدقيقة للمعركة متنازع عليها بين المؤرخين.
